Aerodynamic design and analysis

The CatBird team has extensive experience in the study of aerodynamic properties for various objects. We worked with cars, drones, airplanes, propellers, compressors, wind generators and other devices.

Our list of competencies includes air profile research. CatBird engineers provide a complete comparative analysis of different wing profiles according to customer requirements, as well as design external and internal wing structures, taking into account the available manufacturing processes.

We develop and produce composite wings and parts from balsa, plywood, carbon fiber, glass fiber and EPP. Our team familiar with hundreds of dissimilar production methods, giving us opportunity to create “best fit” designs or products.

After software analysis has been performed, it is possible to conduct real tests of prototypes at a scale of 1: 1 or less, depending on the tasks. Thus, we have the opportunity to test the maximum amount of aerodynamic qualities of the model in the air, before starting production and creating molds.

Prototypes are equipped with embedded system, which records all sensors’ readings including: oscilations, vertical/horizontal/angular velocity and acceleration, altitude etc. Thus our engineers can analyze logs to improve the construction.
